Thermal imaging FAQ
- What Is Thermal Imaging?
- Thermal imaging, or thermography, is the correlation of internal temperature recordings and demonstrated heat patterns. Bodies emit heat as our cells metabolize food into energy. The energy is transported through blood circulation. These emissions provide a diagnostic opportunity into any given area.
- How Does Thermal Imaging Prevent Breast Cancer?
- Cancerous cells multiply uncontrollably. Around the cancer cells, the surrounding tissues become inflamed from the body's immune reaction to the cancerous cells. The sooner the multiplying cells and inflammations are detected, the better advantage you have in your health.
- Why Is Early Detection Of Cancer Cells So Important?
- The earlier the detection of cancer cells, the more options patients have regarding treatment plans. Thermal Imaging can detect cancers at a very minute physical stage of development, years before lumps can develop that can be seen or felt, and years before a mass or lesion is large enough to be viewed in mammograms.
- Is Thermal Imaging Safe?
- Yes! Thermal Imaging does not have any radiation. It is a safer, less invasive, less expensive way to detect breast abnormalities, especially for women who have estrogen stimulated breast tissues that should not be exposed to radiation unless absolutely necessary. The statistics of breast cancer vary, but it is widely known that breast cancer is occurring in younger women, though in the past most was detected in women over forty.
- Any Risks Or Side Effects?
- No, not at all! No contact, no radiation, and Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is FDA Approved.
- Do I Need A Referral By My Primary Doctor?
- No medical referral is required! All we need is your interest in your health.
- Why Should I Choose Thermal Imaging Over Mammograms?
- Mammograms are debated within the medical community. Their safety, reliability, and accuracy are in question. While the debate continues, using thermal imaging for initial screenings is a safer, more accurate, more comfortable way to ease your mind. Thermal Imaging puts you in control.
- Who Takes The Photograph?
- We have both a male and female thermographer, whoever is most comfortable for you.
- How Long Does It Take?
- The average time for the paperwork, prep time, and photograph is 30 minutes.
- Can I Photograph Any Area Of My Body?
- Yes! Any region of interest and even full body photos are available.
